It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that we are bringing you the very first event of its kind in Hawaii. The First Annual Maui Open Studios Event is a unique, vibrant event modeled after a very successful concept and tradition that has been enjoyed by the public for free throughout the mainland for many decades.

After recognizing that Hawaii has no such event like this to promote its abundance of talented artists, we began putting plans in place to produce a similar event on the beautiful island of Maui, where so many gifted and talented artists reside, visit, create and find inspirations for their art, crafts and other wonderful creations.

The public will have the opportunity to visit as many studios and gallery spaces as they wish and to purchase artwork and the creations of these artists directly from them. The public, both local and tourist alike, will have a very unique opportunity year after year to experience the creativity that the art community has to offer on Maui. It will be a very special event for both the artists and their guests alike.

This entire event is free for the public. All are welcome.

Artists must pay a registration fee to be included as a participant in the event. Artists working in any visual medium or multi-media are welcome.

Friday Night Art Nights: 6:30pm - 9pm

Meet a number of the artists who are participating in the Open Studios in the gallery on Friday evenings throughout the exhibit during "Friday Nights are Art Nights". Enjoy live musical entertainment from 7pm - 9pm and wine.

The event is split up into three weekends so that visitors to Maui have a better chance of catching at least one of the weekends and also so artists who are participating in the event can take their own tours of other artists' studios. Also, Maui is a large island and we don't want anyone to have to drive too much and have to rush through the event. Since each weekend is made up of two days of open studios, you can also divide each region up into two different days as well. Do one region on Saturday and the other region on Sunday.

Grab a copy of our MOS Guidebook at our Opening Celebration/Preview Exhibition, or while supplies last throughout the month of February at our Art Gallery Sponsor's location in Lahaina (Gallery Oceanica) or use our convenient online artist directory to map out your tours and away you go! Preview the artist's work prior to your self-guided tour either at our Opening Celebration/Preview Exhibition, through our website, or the artist's own website. Decide which studios you'd like to visit and then print a map from the links in the artist directory on this website or for general directions see our maps in our MOS Guidebook. If you have GPS, even better! Whichever way you decide to plan your tours, we highly encourage you to have your own Maui road maps with you in your cars.

Thanks for being here and we hope to see you on Maui in February, 2011!
